Should auld acquaintance be forgot -- and days o' auld lang syne

"For last year's words belong to last year's language and next year's words await another voice.”
-- T. S. Eliot

Happy New Year Pageant Family far and wide!

So, let's be honest here. I feel that we've grown close enough that I can divulge my fair share of personal secrets. Last night I had a bit of an anxious panic fit. The realization (and the accompanying excitement and sparkle of it all) hit me. Hard. Like a swift kick in the pants: Miss America is THIS MONTH! Yippee!! As silly as it sounds, I'm going to treasure that Mac Truck moment where reality took a good hard swing at me. It reminds me how lucky... blessed.. fortunate... and above all - grateful I am to have this momentous opportunity. I believe we've nearly completed our fantastic voyage along the Nevada Trail... the horizon is in sight, and boy does that twinkling skyline look Glorious!

Again, another moment of honesty. I'm going to have to go back and check my trust calendar to recall what's been going on. Winter has entirely been a blur. And a snow-less blur at that! *grumble* What a rotten trick that's been... How ironic for someone who finds the cold to be loathsome and detestable to be angry there's a marked absence of the delicate wintery flakes. 'Scuse me while I click over to my calendar...

Ok wait - Time out. I've gotta run... literally, but I'll be back to complete this installation. Cross my heart and hope to... well, you know how that goes...

Be back this afternoon,

elyse*
